My Method

I have developed a simple method for writing an HR Manual in a matter of 7 days, at most.

But most importantly, using my method, the manual will be current - perpetually!

Accreditation of HR professionals in India

NHRD has recently signed an MoU with CII and XLRI for constituting a cell for accreditation of HR professionals in India.

To begin with, a pool of 50 assessors will be formed this year for accrediting about 250 HR professionals.

Taking Manual-writing to the next level!

Writers Bureau's Annual "Writer of the Year" has been announced on their website at www.writersbureau.com and the Writer for the Year 2007 is ... NOEL GAMA!

The winner is published in their promotional material and receives a £250 cash prize.

The announcement on WB’s web site reads, "This year, again, we were presented with a tough choice for our winner. In the end we chose Noël because, not only has he worked tremendously hard to produce a good body of work, he’s also used new technology in an imaginative way to expand his markets. What's more, he’s done all of this in his spare time!"

Though a full-time HR professional, I needed an outlet for my creativity and looked around for one. I found The Writers Bureau and enrolled for the Comprehensive Writing Course.

Besides writing general interest articles, I write a wildly popular wildlife column for UTs Voice, a fortnightly newsmagazine published from all the union territories of India. I also post regularly on my blog at www.wildlifefile.blogspot.com.

I came up with an innovative and ambitious Blog-to-Book project, 'Saudades! Folk Memories of Damão' which was launched by the Consul General of Portugal last June. The project comprises 24 blogs, each blog corresponding to a chapter and each posting to a topic in the book. The blog/book is intended to be a collaborative as well as corroborative effort with validation built-in.

Survivor Books Limited, UK recently offered me a deal for writing two non-fiction books totaling 200,000 words for their best-selling series. I just signed the agreement for the first, a 50,000-word book titled 'Culture Wise India’ due to be released in Q4 this year. The second book, 'Living and Working in India' is scheduled for spring 2008.

I am currently working on two 'How-To' e-Books, which draw on my two decades of experience in the HRM field.

I have also produced the inaugural issue of PSL’s in-house journal, “In the Pipeline” of which I am the editor.

I am now in the process of starting my own publishing company - Noah's Mark Publishing - and will self-publish 'How-To' e-Books on HRM and general management as well as experiment with POD.
